Seasons and climate.
Earth axis is titules 23,5º from the ecliptic plane.

  • Equinox -  same day and night length
  • Solstice -  greatest difference between day and night length. Autumn and spring.

We have seen a picture of the ecliptic plane and we have been talking a bit about the axes , the movemente of the earth.

In addition, we have been checking with the flashlights of our mobiles how if we put the light vertically or horizontally, the amount of illuminated space changes.

In our summer we are further from the sun so, this is not the cause of the distribution of the seasons.
In summer, the sun is higher. Being higger means that the sun heat more than in winter.

How can we explain the temperature differences in the seasons from outside the earth? Because the earth moves around the sun but at the same time they have a tilt ax.

Next and in relation to the above, we have seen a video that demonstrated the position of the earth with respect to the sun, solstice by solstice. We have been able to observe how the duration of the light also changes in the days, like a few days before dark and others after.

Following an illustration by Frato, who writes a lot about education, we have been talking about whether the sun is the one that moves, or is the earth. ‘Apparent path’ definition has appears; the ecliptic is the mean plane of the apparent path in the Earth's sky that the Sun follows over the course of one year; it is the basis of the ecliptic coordinate system. This plane of reference is coplanar with Earth's orbit around the Sun

Where does the rise rise from? The east for the whole planet.
